These polished ammonite fossil pairs have been cut and polished to reveal the intricate internal chambers of the shell, formed in a naturally occurring spiral known as a logarithmic spiral. Each half displays the fossilized chamber walls in warm shades of amber, honey, mocha, and cream, with subtle crystalline pockets preserved within the center.

Ammonites were marine cephalopods that lived during the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras, eventually going extinct alongside the dinosaurs around 66 million years ago. Their shells were divided into chambers, which the animal used to regulate buoyancy while moving through ancient oceans. Over millions of years, the original shell material was replaced by minerals, preserving the internal structure in remarkable detail.

These pairs are polished from a single ammonite that has been split in half, allowing both mirrored sides of the fossil to be displayed together. The polished face highlights the geometry and natural mineralization within the chambers, while the outer shell retains portions of the original fossil texture.

  • You will receive one matching ammonite fossil pair
  • Polished on one side, natural fossil texture on the reverse
  • Approximate size: around 1.25"–1.5" each half
  • Natural variations, mineral pockets, and fossil inclusions are expected and make every pair unique

A striking addition to a fossil collection, curiosity cabinet, or geological display.
