Larimar is a rare blue variety of pectolite known for its soft ocean-like colors and marbled patterns. Unlike many gemstones that form deep underground, Larimar develops in volcanic environments in the Dominican Republic where mineral-rich fluids slowly crystallize within cavities in the rock.
Its color — ranging from pale sky blue to deeper turquoise tones — often evokes images of shallow tropical water, which is fitting given its origin in the Caribbean.
While Larimar is often appreciated for its calming appearance, the mineral itself tells a geological story shaped by volcanic activity, mineral chemistry, and time.
Each piece is unique, shaped by gradual geological processes that cannot be repeated, and carries visible traces of the environment in which it formed.
This listing is for Option 19. This piece is polished on both sides. Shine a bright light behind the piece to see it glow through.
👉 the blue areas = Larimar (blue pectolite)
👉 the white areas = pectolite without copper
