Made by hand from natural corn husks and twine, this harvest figure is a traditional form found across many rural and agrarian cultures. Simple in construction and rich in meaning, corn husk dolls have long been shaped at the end of the growing season and kept as markers of abundance, labor, and return.
Each figure is formed from dried husks and dressed in a simple garment, tied and folded rather than stitched. A small bundle of wheat sheaves is held at the waist, echoing the work of gathering and storing what has been grown. No two are exactly alike — variations in size, shape, and texture are part of the material itself.
This piece can be displayed seasonally, kept with autumn decorations, or placed among household objects that mark the rhythm of the year. Some people keep corn husk figures year-round; others bring them out only at harvest time, returning them to storage once the season has passed.
It is a quiet object, made from what remains after the useful work is done.
